is the server's time a bit squiffy? my computer says 13:47:00....

and the server says 15:44 or so... but the time zone is "correct" - EET... no summertime, but even so, that's still an hour out...

hmm....

My PC says 14:17, and the board says "4:17", and I have the +2 GMT /EET time setting too.

I just reset my profile to GMT & the board now says the post was at 2:17, so I guess it's actually on BST !

the actual server location is what the issue is .. and we need to offset the time to where the server is located at. I am looking into this as we speak via Visual Route...

Below in .txt attachment is report from Visual Route of server timezone and actual location of last "hop".

its in Houston Texas of all places.. - 5 hours GMT.. or -7 hours from Finland...

seems to be still off a bit..

its right now 17:41 on 21:Oct:2004

if its saying 8:44pm for this post and the config board is stating that the server time is "-5 hours gmt" , then move it to "-7 hours gmt" and it should be fine... and reflect that its should be 5:44pm..

your going to get a few minutes off + / - when it comes to servers...

There is a setting of "system time" in the admin panel, but that has no apparent effect.

The 3 minutes is explained time is slower in Tejas ;)

I just set to -7 hours gmt . lets sit on it for the evening and check back again either later tonight or tomorrow and see if it changes. If not, then it a bug in phpbb2.de +1.52 version and should be reported...

I still think it takes time to catch up...lets see what happens.. I am off to finnish class...will be a bit late..but oh well.. ;)

chat with you tomorrow..

ok.. leave the server settings the way they are.. and now go to your profile.. and set the time to GMT instead of +2 hour gmt..

you now have current time zone... ;)

this should be relayed to reflect actual time zone of posts..so end users need to set the time via thier profiles..not us setting it on the server..we fixed that.. perhaps just push it -9hours gmt and that way when end users set profile to +2gmt hourse (finland time zone) then they get correct time posted ...

=)
